When did Ruger quit using NyLock screws as depicted in magazine advertisements. I had forgotten about them until I came across an old magazine ad that featured Ruger single actions that pictured Nylock screws.

Great Question! BUT

Finding an answer may prove to be impossible. I have at least 10 reference books on Ruger and the only thing I have found is the original April 1960 ad announcing this feature. I hope someone can come up with an answer. Nylock screws are still available from the companY that produces them.

The early Ruger ads also touted Music WIre springs.

they found out the springs couldn't carry a tune so....

Music Wire Springs = round wire wrapped into a coil as I have been told.
