But, not with all powders.

Gary built me a 24" G2 Carbine in 38-40 that thrives on slow pistol/fast rifle powders.

Also, cast bullets loose less velocity due to the lube. Coated cast hold up great too.

Have seen the same ballistic drops in longer barrels on rimfires.
