The title of my next book will be
WELL ... THAT DIDN'T WORK OUT!
Took the Mosin to the range. Set up at 50 yards. The cast bullet loads stayed inside 6 inches. ugh
The jacketed bullet loads stayed on a paper plate .. barely. 8 inches? Not sure.
I fired enough to convince myself it wasn't just the shooter's fault.
My next step is to shoot some of the military loads I have. Got a LOT of them! I think they are from 1944 and were buried in a Bulgarian farmer's field until about 1980. I have been putting off shooting them because of the cleaning required afterwards, but I am at that point.
If they don't shoot fairly well then it ain't just my handloads.
We shall see.
