collectively worth somewhere between $25-50K. (I'm not sure they may be worth that each!) We don't know the calibers. Both unfired European wonders all engraved and Uber fancy. Crap you see in hardbound books. One is an O/U and not marked anywhere as to caliber, some proofs. It's German and has some Krieghoff kinship at the very least, maybe just an early example. I think it's a 9mm of some sort, it is rimmed.

The other is a Combination rifle/16 bore. It is marked 8.8 cal. You'd figure 9mm or .35 cal. Looks Merkely to me with a heavily modified complex Greener type crossbolt locking. There were several 9mm rimmed sporting rounds. 9X57R is just one. I don't think it's a 9.3, even the lands would be too far at 8.8mm. I'll try to get a picture or two.

I have my pin gauges but we truly need chamber casts. Yikes! A scary thought. He needs the info to sell on the world net markets.

Charlie thinks 9.3 also, but that’s long away from 8.8.

He’s not really wanting me to get close to them with my melted Crayolas! I left him my beloved Pin Hauge set that Mr. Taffin hooked me up with, lots of uses.
