As soon as the 223/5.56 and 9mm disappeared from the shelves, everyone decided to reload. And most of these had never reloaded before. That is scary. A new reloader these days with all the new powders and speedy whoop de do 1000 rounds an hour presses is about as scary as a new gun owner who knows everything about guns because his brother in law owned one before he went to prison.
One of the new reloaders told me this morning he was going to load the 454 "Casual" for his cousin. That is even scarier. He was in Corinth Mississippi. He said his cousin, who is really his brother on his Mother's side, wanted some "real hot" 454 "Casuals" and factory loads were not strong enough to kill a hog. He said some of the 454 "Casuals" were for him as he had a Ruger Blackhawk converted to 454 "Casual" and he left it a 6 shot so he would have plenty of rounds for hog hunting. I asked him if he had any insurance. He said he did on his car that he got from his brother named Elroy. Elroy sold insurance and marijuana and he said Elroy made some of the finest "hootch" around Mississippi. My insurance question went right over his head.
He had been trying to kill a hog he named Cooter for several years but the hog was too smart for him. I didn't disagree with him on that. Not sure if the hog was related to him or not, maybe on his Father's side of the family.
He said he would send me a picture of Cooter if he was able to kill him. And he offered to send me a jug of that hootch his brother Elroy made. I told him I would pass as I was allergic to jail cells. He told me he was too and related to me an instance where he spent 5 days in jail one weekend. He said he met a lot of friends when he was in jail, most of them were related to him, on his Mother's side. I thanked him for the information and told him I was Scott Boggs from McRae Arkansas and he could look me up sometime. He said he would the next time he and Jasper were down in my area. I really screwed up and asked him who Jaspar was. He said Jasper was another of his brothers but not really in the family as he had a different Mother and Father. But they knew he was related as his eyes were crossed just like his Father's and he had that funny hitch in his git along just like his Mother did. About that time he started telling me how his Mother got that hitch in her git along and Thank the Lord, I got another phone call. But I told him to make sure and look me up the next time he was in McRae Arkansas.

I ended up with some of those last shortage. Have a close look at the box as I recall them saying they had a shelf life of 20 years(?) due to whatever priming mixture they were using. Make it a priority to use them up.
