the washington post had a story today, two pages, on the smuggling of Barrett 50's to the Mexican cartels and as usual makes everything due to our loose laws. It showed several instances of straw purchases and cited they had little punishment. I have found that the punishment depends on the prosecutor, I am sure if a criminal commits one it is not punished or is waived for a deal elsewhere. The big takeaway is that most of the guns came from Arizona and Texas. They seemed to have left out the AK's from China and the former Soviet Union. Fast and Furious was mentioned briefly without the Obama connection of course.

Yeah, other than our guns ending up there, Mexico...

What targets do the Mexican cartels need .50-cal Barretts for to shoot at. Dinosaurs? APCs? They're doing fine in the business as is.

I'm pretty sure everyone here is well informed on this topic, but I (tediously) note that Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, bought the WaPo a few years back. All the news he wants they'll print. Please shop at your hometown store instead of buying things on Amazon, even if it costs you a couple of bucks.
