Anybody got a good flaregun story?

The very best flaregun story I ever heard was one of the Capsdick plagiarisms. He was good at it; I have to give it to him. Anyway I think I read it years later as the true story recounted by the original White Hunter who was working for the game department. Seems a surplus Japanese double barrel flare pistol conjured up a plan to cull African Buffalo at night around a watering hole. It went perfectly as planned, as far as the plan went. That was up to the point all guns were empty shooting the buffalo and the flares went out. EVERYBODY was night blind, including 100 stampeding bovine. Some serious ass grabbing and high stepping ensued I’m sure.

It was the wood grips that did it for me, and that nice leather case. There are several “converter” cartridges for these 26.5mm guns for .45/.410, .38 Special, and .22 RF. They seem to work perfectly but you are on your own as to sights. No paperwork and right to your mailbox. This guy has two left at $100 + $20 shipping.

In several horror movies the hero or heroine shoots the bad guy with a flare pistol and burns a hole in him proper. In reality I figure it would bounce off and cause a prompt fire someplace. I have a plan to surprise a pack of Coyotes next time they come around. The Boggs clan all out on the back deck with AK, SKS, AR’s etc. A nice Czech star parachute flare should do it. Lol What fun, if only in planning and plotting.
