I have seen at least 3 that had smooth bore barrels. Winchester was smart and put seconds on their commemoratives. Probably 99% of the commemoratives were never shot nor even taken out of the boxes as they were collectors items and one that had been shot or lost the box lost a large portion of their value. Barrels that had bad rifling or no rifling that were too bad to put on one of their nice model 94s went on the commemoratives. In a way it was just good business.
