Question for Gary..

For a Redhawk I will run a hotter round than the load I would shoot in a S&W model 29. In almost all instances I use either H-110 or 296 as these ball powders are more consistent than a lot of the flake powders. For a Contender or encore I will use a little hotter load than one for a lighter frame 44 mag. I usually keep 3 or 4 boxes of 44 mag for our testing. For a Redhawk or TC I like to use the Hornady 265 grain JSP or 270 grain JHP with 21 grains of 296. For a S&W model 29 or 629 I like a bit lighter load, like a 200 grain or 240 grain JHP over 23 grains of 296 or H110. These aren't max loads but I found long ago that my most accurate loads are a grain or 2 down from max.
