Have the brazed on front sights independent of the barrel band. And the folding ladder rear sight folded down is a broad V. Plenty of light in the sides so I can see it pretty good.
I wish I had bought last week, same gun in .357 but $100 more than this .44-40. To do again I’d pay it. But the .44-40 is a good deer gun with 200-240 gr. at 1100-1200 fps from the carbine. More traditional too. I have a dandy cast 180-200 gr. .357 Rosso carbine load using LilGun too. It’s not far from the .35 Rem. In the stronger M92 clones.
My TC Contender in .357 Max., 8-3/8”, will push a 200 Cast easily to 1650 fps. My old Marlin 20” .35 was only running 1950 with a 200 JSP Hornady!
