have never been to Africa and don't know diddly about the rules. I have read the rules and normally send a copy of them to my guys who go to Africa with me. The things I told you are what was in the rule book this time last year and it is not different area to area. Those rules are for the entire country of South Africa. Several of the guys going with me in April have been with me to Africa several times and know the rules. A couple of them are using revolvers with 8" barrels plus the muzzle brake if they have one on it. The rules specifically say any handgun under 8" is not considered a hunting gun, but is a defensive weapon which is not allowed. It also says 22 rimfire in not legal.

Also those guys that hunted with the short barreled handguns are the ones that got the PH arrested and he had to pay a large fine or spend 6 or 8 years in jail.

You can do whatever you like. I am not going to argue with you. It doesn't matter to me. I am not a booking agent. I don't make a penny off the 11 or 12 guys going with me to Africa. I just enjoy having good friends with me on a special hunt like Africa. But I make sure we all follow the rules. It is just plain stupid to listen to some guys on the internet that have never been there. I won't ruin a $20,000 hunt just so I could sneak some illegal thing into South Africa.

Look up Madubula Safaries and look at the rules, or talk to the head man John Abraham. He has been the International Professional Hunter of the year and the African Professional Hunter of the year twice. I think he knows his stuff.
