You could also get a cylinder made in 32-20 for your 300GNR, if you don’t have the 30 Carbine cylinder.

Mine is an OM, originally a .30 Carbine. But new barrel, new twist. A .32-20 cyl. would be neat. Loaded up with W296 it flat barks.

I think Nick at redeye reloading .com stumbled into a 55 gallon drum of that brass.
It may have been 25 35 too though. I can't remember now, but well worth checking

I am buying a .32-20 sixgun. Waiting on a call back from one vendor. Just before I pulled the lever on a Italian SAA I spied a nice pre-1942 Colt Official Police 6" in .32 WCF. Basically a later and improved version of the Colt New Army with wider more visible sights. It was also made famous by Barney Fife and his "single" bullet. This one was in the same price range and super clean... But the big woman has not yodeled yet. Of all that over load on historic and customs I really like that M97 at the bottom!

I did buy this Martini Cadet from a guy in Mississippi. It has Redfield peep sights so I can actually have a chance of hitting something. It's been rechamberd to .32-20 from .310 Greener. BUT the fun is the nominal 0.324" groove diameters on Cadets and the challenge to get a .312" bullet to work. LOL in reality you have to add a bit of black magic. (supposedly hollow based .32 Long WC work well).

It just seemed like fun and a sound investment. The real backstory is a time I was at a shooter's outing with Jim Taylor. Such nice fellows all. One new friend allowed me to shoot his Martini Cadet in .310 Greener using heeled 120 gr. bullets at 1150 fps. I think he had modded .327 Federal cases, turned down rims and shortened. We had great fun potting the 100 yd. gong offhand. I was kind of bitten by the bug. It just took a few years to act upon it. It's all about pure shooting enjoyment and fun. The history behind it all is interesting too. Dating back to England having their asses handed to them in large by the Boers in Africa.

and pondering going up against some serious marksmen sometime again in the future they might improve matters by getting some training started. Greener came up with a "scaled" down version of the full size Martini .450/577 and the .310 Greener (some Rook Ctgs. too) Cadet came to be. Shooting clubs began to foster public interest and competition and generally teach marksmanship to the youth. Australia got in on the act in a big way and most of the slickest trainers survive from there. They did make .22 RF versions too of course. And in the last century it was grand sport to make petite custom rifles from the small but strong actions. I have a superb .25-35 WCF done such.

The rechamber to .32-20 basically makes cases easier to come by. Perhaps a little trimming but really you still need a heeled .320" bullet. Some rechamber to the .32 Winchester Special but the .321" 170 gr. bullet is not a good fit for the barrel twist at slow speeds and at full power the tiny gun would kick like a mule. So the "cult" of Cadet Martini shooting has blossomed, it's not for every swinging Johnson. If you can get one hole performance from a discovered combination you are a true Mack Daddy! I wondered why they don;t just rechamber to .32-40 and shoot 120 gr. .321's? I'll research that. First off no one makes a 120/.321 and also the case is a bit long for the action to swallow that long brass, it might have to be modified, the top cover.

If it were easy why do it? Where is the fun in that?

WB, I have a BF Arms silhouette pistol in 32-20 that I may
sell. I have been thinking of sending a list of guns to Gary and asking him if I could list them here and ask everyone to send payment to Gary for a custom build for me.
I have another one of the BF Arms that Gary re-chambered to a
7gnr for me. It was a 7mm supermag. I deer hunt with it.
E A Brown still makes these, but mine are the original ones made in Nebraska. I was going to ask him to re-chamber the 32-20 to something else (30gnr?) as they are reported to have .308 bores.

The .30 GNR is fantastic. Easily .300 Savage rifle performance and shoots normal .30-30 just fine while making brass. That’s what Roman uses.

That .32-20 was no doubt for NRA 100 yd. competition. You can easily load them with 150 gr. Rifle bullets. It’s quite fun.

Those are custom made to order with a quite lengthy wait!

The later Colt's had more ample square notch rears. Al Goerg took his first head of big game (Whitetail) with a Hand Ejector .32-20 S&W, 4 or 5 inch barrel. It was during the War and meat was scarce, he took an opportunity.
