Reeder Custom Guns - Buying reloading components

Looked last night on my favorite retailer's website. They had gotten in a huge amount of cast bullets. I looked at some 9mm Missouri Coated Bullets. I decided to "think about it."

Needless to say, I goofed. By 5:03 a.m. they were gone. Never saw that one coming.

Did order .358" and .430" Coated SWC by bulk.

Moral of the story is if you find it, buy it. I'm afraid bullets may get like Primers.

A bit of searching. I look nearly every morning for what's in stock. It's no longer feasible to look for specific bullets, just see what's available.

Up until the covid hit I was going to the Tulsa gun show twice a year, now it just ain't worth the risk. I walked away from several deals on firearms there thinking ok I'll think about it and when I go back they were gone. Never again!! I use to buy all my primers there and would pick up 10 to 15 thousand at a time, I wasn't hoarding just making plans to shoot a hell of a lot more when I retire. I was paying $18 a thousand for Wolf and $22 a thousand for Winchester. I have shared with some close friends with the understanding that all they have to do is replace them some day. As far as bullets go I cast all my own and have for years, pistol and some rifle bullets It's a fun past-time when the weather is crappy.

It's used like assault rifle, etc. I do have a problem with scalpers trying to buy everything up and sell stuff at insane prices. But, no problem with being prepared.

I have a total of zero sympathy on most people. Especially those who have lived thru this before and those who have been repeatedly warned.

my center fire hand guns. If i were close enough i would try to help by cast I still enjoy it. But i have bought cast also. Once the word epidemic became pan everyone of us should have known what was coming... Also just the strong possibility of moving from republican to Dem should also have been a big sign... not fussin --I have no right to do that but we had warning.

equipment has gone nuts too! Who casts their own bullets?! For years I have been an odd duck, now I'm a local Yoda, with calls coming in with questions and advice. A huge surge in interest. Everyone wants to know about powder coating, since it requires less specialty equipment.

Finding lead is it's own sport! Shoot into a backstop you can re-claim. A 5 gal. bucket of sand or dirt will handily stop a 510 gr. .458 Winchester! But not a .416... Guys are raiding junk stores for pewter pieces to sweeten and harden alloys. It's another level of crazy to me. lol
