Nothing’s easy...

I got this idea. Since I’m not REALLY a gun hoarder, it’s time to rotate some stock. That’s how I’ve done it my whole life. I’ve got a good job but it also supports (5) of us. So the fun money comes from trading around.

I have a Mini-14 that should bring big bucks right now. Make me some cash! I can then parlay it into old Colt or S&W revolvers that are comparatively slow movers right now. I like them better anyway, and they take up less room. Or some other weird old thing I think I can eventually trade up with.

Somebody, not me, lost the rear sight and screw. I ordered another ($40 btw) and they sent a 8:40 screw for mounting. Well I’m still not sure what Ruger is up to but this is a 6:48 next to the hole and it’s too big too! Crap! I found a couple screws that were smaller (#4 ?) so what the heck is this on a 581 series?! I may drill and tap it for a reasonable 6:48. That allows a margin of error to go to the 8:40. Lol. But come on Ruger! Some odd proprietary screw size? The old man wouldn’t have liked this, you’re lucky he can’t dress down the troops from the other side!
