update from Charlie Herf on his daughter Allison's
fight with cancer....
hello, I hope this finds you well and staying safe from Covid !!! Charlie and I want to THANK YOU so very much for your generous and kind donation to Allison !!! this has been a journey like no other and we truly hope none of you ever have to go through this with any of your family !!! through it ALL Allison has been a SUPER TROOPER and we have always done our BEST to stay strong for her ... this latest diagnosis hit all of us like a ton of bricks... but, fortunately, her main Doc, Dr. Fanta her medical oncologist , didn't waste any time in choosing 2 top radiation oncologists to determine her treatment.. one Dr. is a neuro oncologist, she has met in person with him last week and he will be drawing blood frequently, he did that when they met last Thursday, and his goal is to locate the cancer cells BEFORE they become tumors...the other specialist is a radiation oncologist brain specialist, she will be doing the radiation sessions. there are 6 tumors. Allie had an MRI of her brain and then was fitted with the scull cap that she will wear for the procedures..her first radiation treatment will be this Thursday, we will know after this week, as to how many treatments, how spaced apart they will be and so on... after the radiation is completed she will have chemo infusions every 3 weeks and , of course, lots of tests and scans to determine the success of the treatments... so, again, we THANK YOU and PLEASE do keep Allie in your prayers !!! much love, Patti & Charlie
