years or so. It was set up as a strictly dealer's show for dealers to talk to distributors and manufacturers and place orders. The last several years they allowed anyone in. The kitchen table dealers gave copies of their FFL to their brothers, cousins, uncles and anybody else that wanted one. All the people that owned the SHOT show wanted was the revenue they got from all the warm bodies that walked in. The SHOT show wasn't a real show at all. It was more of a concept show where they showed concept guns. If the manufacturers got enough orders for a new concept gun then they would make it. If not they dropped the idea. And if they got enough orders it often took 2 years before the dealers actually got the guns they ordered. The greedy people that ran the show ruined the show for the dealers. In fact several of the manufacturers and distributors were so disgusted with the SHOT show they had their own mini SHOT show a week or so before the real SHOT show. I won't miss it all.
