WB mentioned the 10mm vs 10mm Magnum a few days back...

And he was correct. At least in regards to Trail Guns.

I can long seat the bullets and match the 10mm Magnum in Trail Guns. Mostly because beyond this, cylinder length is the limiting factor.

Not true in longer cylinder guns. I have the GP-100 that I use the excellent TK Moon Clips with. I can get really good velocities with using prudent loads.

Different story on my Ruger SRH 10mm. I got Gary to rechamber it to 10mm Magnum. I was called out on this one, but not for long. The reason I did this is because I use the TK Moon Clips on it as well. I can long seat bullets in the Magnum case and easily match the 41 Magnum and probably best it with some loads.

I really like the coated cast bullets. I can taper crimp over any of the driving bands and eliminate bullet creep. Headspace is not an issue due to the moon clips.

10mm on the left, 10mm Magnum on the right...

I wondered if you were doing that with

40S&W to get 10mm performance from a trail gun. I was going to ask how fast you can push coated bullets. Guess there’s no need.

I've done more with the 10mm...

Can get 1350 fps with a 200 grain in the Trail Gun and GP-100. Not terribly far behind the 41 Magnum.
