I'm cutting myself off gunshopping today.

I've had a grand time for about a month, swapping off things that throw my brass in the bushes and tall grass. (but I have some more too) Doug is the little devil on the shoulder saying "do it, you know you want to, DO IT".

Bucket list thing. While looking at all the spaghetti clones... I wanted to taste the flavor of all those delicious pictures in Mr. Taffin's books, the essence of Papa Jim's adventures with his father in the Superstition Mtns. It's almost a spirit, a feel, I'm after. Having researched all those varied contract Uberti clones for the very best version... I went nuts and bought a genuine Gen. 1 BISLEY SAA.

Very old re-blue, done right long ago not all buffed out, crisp lettering and edges, but plenty solid for a shooter. Great bore too. 4-3/4" like some guys favor (never had one, if Jim says it's good...) in the wonderfully shootable .32 Winchester. Poncho Villa favored the 4-3/4" Bisley, FWIW. It even has a Colt historical research letter, that's over $100 right? All matching, original parts, and 117 years old. I'm trying to get over the shock that I actually worked a deal and procured it.

But I've been blessed with getting to sample many of the dream guns of my youth. Some not long but I did enjoy every moment. Gary helped me a lot. A .44 Automag, Luger, Desert Eagle, Hi-Power, No.5, all sorts of Uber Customs both single action and single-shot. This is just another blessing to experience. Wanted to share with some guys I care about. I'll be in recovery for a while.
