At the bench with the Taylors/Uberti SAA 32-20 WCF...
Did some testing with the Uberti SAA 32-20 WCF this evening.
Was interested in pushing the GT 115 grn HP Cast over 2400 Powder. Gathered up CCI SP Primers and Starline Brass to complete the loads.
Paco Kelly used from 11.0-14.0 grns behind this bullet weight. Clearly, he has more testosterone than I do. I stopped at 12.5 grns. I never got excessive pressure signs, but felt it was time to stop. Starline Brass holds less powder than my Remington and Winchester Brass. They're also shorter. This was all indications to stop adding powder.
It didn't really matter. Accuracy peaked at 11.5 grns and velocity was about 1400 fps. I've found this velocity ideal with most GT Bullets. Groups ranged from 1-1.5" at 25 yards. Low due to the unaltered front sight.
Quality of this gun is exceptional as with all my Uberti Guns...
