was on the judgement of Sodom and Gomorrah. Christians are regularly mocked for clinging to this "fable" as an example not to tolerate homosexual behavior. Geological evidence proves this once well watered plain, now total desolate desert, did experience a Lu Lu of a relatively recent geological event. A well proven scientific fact.
The mocking is spot on. It's a historical fact and is indeed a recorded illustration of how sinful and forbidden behavior will garner long suffering judgement. History repeats. That's why it is recorded in King's English for us.
Abraham's brother Lot had first choice and settled in Sodom. It seems his Godly influence was not fruitful. When Angles came to see if there were at least (10) righteous people in the entire city, so it would be spared, they were met by vicious homo mobs! Lot was in a dither worried about the Angel's well being (terribly misplaced concern). They struck the mob blind and told Lot "hey in the morning we are out of here, it's toast". Only Lot and his wife, two daughters, made it out of the city. That's four in the entire city. Non of his in-laws, friends, no one else made it out. There are many other points but that is the gist.
Abraham was concerned that the righteous would be destroyed with the unrighteous. That is why he interceded. God allowed it to teach a lesson. HE does what is right, always. Sin has judgement, period. The timing of it can be variable by God's will, but it's a fixed fact.
They have a tough row to hoe coming. It's wise to distance oneself from that crowd. Not to get hit by shrapnel, and do not look back! You can inform those who will listen, it's a duty in fact, but you cannot make them believe, it's their choice.
And there is this from the late 1920’s

First off an untimely end can come with no warning and no time for last wishes or thoughts. Be prepared ahead of time.
Also I noted this study (I missed it over the years) when Lot addressed the mob he called them "brethren". This pointed out he had assimilated into their society even though he did not partake in their lifestyle. The abomination had tainted everything it got close to. Including Lots family. They perished, not necessarily to end in hell, but perished from this world, likely before potential time, due to their behavior. We don't have specific personal information.
Later Jesus Himself said it was better for those who perished in Sodom (the sinful believers) than those who deny Christ. Paraphrased but accurate.
Amen to that

matters. My father was an Episcopal minister and I believe he would be appalled at what has happened to the Church. Homosexuals and women ordained into the priesthood and elevated to the Episcopate. A Church that advocates women's right to "choose", meaning abortion. For those exact reasons I left organized religion years ago. I am still a Christian, pray regularly and believe with all my heart that Christ is my savior and he died to open the gates of heaven so that all mankind who believe can enter to be judged. I fear for my country. I spent 30 years of my life defending this country and there are many on here that have done the same, putting our lives on the line for our Constitution, Flag, our brothers in arms and our way of life free from tyranny. I believe that there are a lot more than 10 who believe as I do and I hope that when judgement is rendered by God on America that all who truly believe in Christ and God will be saved and delivered into Gods hands.
Appreciate you Larry.
