Reeder Custom Guns - I held this new 44-40 for a fellow who never

called back with a credit card number or FFL so it is back up for grabs again...

This is one of our Frontier Classics chambered in 44-40. Every part of the gun is new. It has a 7.5" barrel with the Positive Performance Package. It has a satin black 6 shot 44-40 cylinder. Small parts are satin Black Chromex. The gun itself is finished in our satin Vapor Honed stainless finish. It has our Gunfighter Grip with black & blue laminated grips. It has the Belt Mountain base pin for a tighter lock up and the utmost in accuracy. It has our normal .002 barrel/cylinder gap for a bit more power. It has the interchangeable blade front sight with the gold bead blade. The gun would normally run around $2295 but is sale priced at $1795.

I've hesitated to post this, but finally decided it's in the interest of knowledge. Many people debate the original bore groove diameter of the 44-40 WCF. But, nobody can debate it was originally a Winchester Cartridge in the 1873 Rifle.

Phil Sharpe, an early reloading authority, (real authority, not internet authority) had this to say. So, before anybody else fusses about modern guns having .429" bores....
