Are many familiar with the Leupold QR
scope rings/bases? I have used them on some rifles up to .375 RUM (that was a test Mr. Buehler!). They consist of a round steel post about 1/4" in diameter and maybe 5/8" long under the lower scope ring. It sports about a 1/3 moon machined out of one side of the post. This "post" fits into a receiving hole in the scope bases and a lever cams over to lock or cam into that cut-out in the ring post, stuck in the base, firmly holding it locked down. If it wears, the cam just pushes deeper. I noted the "clock" hand position on the levers and got pretty repeatable results using the quick release feature.
*Do you think it would hold up to the recoil of a 5 lb. 7mm GNR handgun?
16 1/4 tapered barrel i've put around 50+ rounds of 210 xtps and 20 or 265g cast. haven't had any problems .i put them on as i thought i was going to switch between pistol and carbine. but it shoots so well as a handgun i doubt i'll ever switch.
