It seems that he experimented in some modified ammunition for hunting in those days.

I do recall seeing some of the bullets used in his book were also used by my own Dad for his SW 44 magnum. Speer made these half jacketed Keith style bullets. Some were soft points and some I do recall being hollow points.

He did modify them with brass screws.

He also modified some 22 lr ammo with small brass screws to limit their expansion and make them more of a penetrator bullet instead of an expander so that you did not spoil game such as ruffed grouse or blue grouse in the NW.

I had a bit of a brain fart, so to speak.

Ok. One of the fun challenges of living and hunting in the olde Bay State is dealing with the laws. Many of which were written around 1910 and are as solid as granite when it comes to making any changes.

I wonder how a 22 WRM hollow point with a small brass screw in the cavity would work out on hunting game such as coyote?

I wonder if it would increase the terminal performance on such game?
