Knowledge

The older Eastern idea of knowledge carried with it the concept of actually experiencing what was true. This is in contrast to our Western idea of truth. In the West we gather information, add it up and consider that we KNOW the truth of the thing. Not so in the older Eastern thought. Without personally experiencing something, the facts alone were not enough to convince of truth. Like casting bullets. You can read all the books, watch the videos, talk to people who do it, but until you actually do it yourself you do not know. This was the concept of "knowledge" in the old Eastern way of thought.

For instance, if you told someone schooled in the older Eastern way, "Coffee does not grow in a cold climate. It only grows in a warm climate." Then you said, "England has a cold climate. Does coffee grow in England?" they would answer something like, "I don't know. I've never been to England."

In that school of thought, experience plus empirical evidence equaled knowledge.

This is demonstrated in the Bible. In John chapter 7, verses 16 and 17, Jesus is recorded as saying, "My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority." See that? If you do His will you will know ...

I sort of have the same philosophy. I am still learning to practice this. I am not saying I am good at it, but I am trying. An example with the recent Presidential Election: I do not know Mr. Biden or Mr. Trump. As to their character I have no clue since I have never had any experience with either of them. I can discern something of them by their actions, but having no inside information as to how they came to make those decisions, I really do not know if those things actually define them or not, so I cannot say one or the other or both are "evil" or "righteous" or whatever. I refuse to rely on hearsay evidence presented by biased people for or against these men. Personally I don't trust either of them since I don't know them. But I am refusing to judge them! I do not have to agree with or support policies or ideas that either may propose. I can do that without passing judgment on the person.

The new President will have me praying for him. And not negative prayers, but prayers that he is protected, kept safe, given wisdom, and makes decisions that cause the nation to heal and prosper spiritually, physically and materially. I do not have to trust him or agree with his policies in order to pray that for him.

AMEN!

trying not to judge

Charles

but y’all probably might have to pray that I don’t judge. I know we are not supposed to judge at all. We are not even supposed to say I don’t deserve this or that and not to say he she or I deserve better. but I am having trouble with a preacher that runs for senator under the democratic ticket.
Knowing full well what they believe. Thank You.

Why we don't judge, Charles

is because we don't know why he joined that party. What if he is there as a Missionary? Or perhaps to try and change them from the inside? Maybe God led him to do that.

We do not know what reason he had for doing it so any reason we give is only a guess.

By judging him for it we act as if we have all knowledge just like God. Same sin Adam and Eve committed.

The 3rd paragraph should read: "In that school of thought, information plus experience equaled knowledge."

Agreed. We are all Americans and even though we differ in

thought, in the fact that we are all Americans, we are the same. Both sides need to take that eastern pattern of thought and learn from the other in actual experience and not what is posted on a website or a feed.

thanks for that Jim. I know I should agree fully with you

but I also know I am probably not man enough or Christian enough to fully do what is right. In my mind, though I don't have the experience to fully know, Biden is true evil. I can try to pray for Biden but whether my heart is really in it, I don't know.

You stated my thoughts, started a post and quit. Gary, you

that's my journey and lessons ... I don't want to judge anyone because I have come to the point in life where I realize that I have not been judged. If I had been, all you would see is a pile of smoking ashes.

I am not saying it is easy to do .. but I am learning.

Sorry Mr. Taylor I just can' do it at this time

These people (suspect one person) don't even have the IQ to figure out that we can watch them try to start trouble with every post and know they are completely Godless.

I'll not waste your forum entertaining their sad lives.

Thank Goodness for the delete button...

you have your share of them on here. It is a shame. They have to know they are not wanted and are not welcome on an open forum.

I think it's just one person. The posts are just too similar

That's in itself shows the pathetic life. Post under several names you you can convince yourself you have support? Fairly self explanatory...

I asked a simple question and you are making accusation and acting like a psycho, that’s what’s pathetic. Fine, I won’t post here, and I’ll encourage others to steer clear of Gary and his psychos

While the meaning of "pure" is a varible

for a point of example; the open support of varied practices blatantly contrary to God's Holy word would easily qualify as "evil". The entire concept of Abortion and support of Same-sex homosexual relations, perverted gender-ism, Marxism, etc. is just the tip. By his actions he can be labeled, and very valid, as EVIL. No professed Christian can support these things and be true to God, it's living a lie.

It's not being judgemental, but using the written word as a test and guide as God instructed. So you would not be fooled.

That should answer your question adequately. You are not one of those returning "Lesbians" are you?! An ANTFIA/BLM infiltrator into our forum?

Even for the misguided there is still time to change. That door will one day close and no more chance, for eternity.

people like you that try to ruin a good forum peopled

by good friends are what I would call evil. You are so pathetic that you are jealous of those of us that have friends.

If you wouldn’t say it in church it’s not good.

You’d need to stay in context to have a meaningful conversation. That quote, “with no supportive action”, would not meet the criteria. It’s poor taste, socially distasteful. But no, it itself does not meet the criteria of evil. Writing law so people can murder children just out of the womb, THAT IS EVIL. Can you not see a distinction? Take names and faces out of the equation, it’s good vs evil. Which are you? A man cannot serve two masters.

Thanks we all appreciate that.

as to judging - "by their fruit you shall know them...." Judge a righteous judgement -- A judgement based on the word of God-- is not standing in His position, it is following His will and only His Judgment is about heaven or hell. How do any of us match up to the standard not my standard, the Standard is Jesus. and found in the New Testament. I Cor 6 has a number of pre judgments.. not mine God's

I agree. You can judge the work and the results ...

what I was trying to convey is that it is not our place to judge the person as to their eternal standing.
