Reeder Custom Guns - to change the subject a bit, Savage is coming out

with a straight pull bolt rifle called the Impulse. The original straight pull bolt gun, that I know of, is the Mondragon 1894 rifle. There are several rimfire rifles that currently use the straight pull bolt but as far as I know the Savage rifle is the first straight pull bolt centerfire rifle in many years.

if they are like the Blaser? Kinda neat but takes some getting used to.

And 7.5x55mm. Never really followed up with much enthusiasm.

Sound designs, so will be interesting to see how there go over in hunting circles.

And there is a Steyr rim-fire out now as many of the Biathlon ski rifles are mostly straight pull. The old Military M95 was too. There was one, I forget the name, maybe the "Ross" that was straight pull and very dangerous. It would blow open.

I have often thought of converting my SKS or AR's in odd calibers to straight pull. I'd by-pass the gas systems. So it would not throw my brass in the bushes. I've thought that "pump" rifles should make a come back. The BPR centerfire flopped for some reason.

Which are straight pull and they are very efficient cycling rifles. I hope the Savage works well. I am looking to try one when available.
