advantage is a lot less weight. And with several layers of Kevlar, probably 2" of Kevlar, the bullet has less chance of going thru. A large caliber bullet would surely knock me down and hurt like hell but I weighed the advantages and disadvantages and went with the kevlar vest, no plates.
