Obviously one does not perform as well under stress. I have over 100 firearms I shoot at different times. Many subtle differences make it interesting. For instance both early BRNO and my Marlin .22 WMR 783 bolt guns have "backward" safeties. Colts rotate their cylinders the opposite from Ruger and S&W. Some models have mag release on the heel, others buttons on the left side of the frame. Hammer blocks, decockers, safe triggers. There is a lot of stuff out there.

If you had only a few it would be easier but I think it's keen to be able to make quick assessments and adapt. I remember Doug telling me they set up a "firearms familiarization" range in the desert. They captured weapons and ammo and let the boys shoot to their heart's desire. What fun! It might come in handy some time, you never know.

The "good o'l boy" with one pistol, rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, and a .22 is a pretty formidable fellow. I'd just bet he could pick up an odd one and figure it out pretty quick too. I remember this fellow that walked up on us at the Skeet range. He was wearing overalls and was a big boy. My friend had a new Beretta .410 O/U, high dollar. The big boy said "man that shore is a purty gun". "I'd love to try one some day". My friend said "shoot have at it feller". He stepped up to a couple stations and shot about 10 doubles from the hip, never putting the gun to his shoulder. WITH A strange .410!!! I think we were set up. LOL We all had a good laugh. He said he really liked the gun. He might get him one some day.
