Hey Jim (he's messed with it) or anyone else...

with all these adventurous souls "reloading primers", successfully I might add. Impresses me. They seem to be motivated from necessity in their locale. Thankfully I have a supply.

I have a few thousand "heavy metal free" LP primers I cannot trust to reliably set off most powders. They all go bang but just won't light some powders. It must be the flame temp and varied coatings on the granules. I'm trying Bullseye next.

I just wonder if I made some of the .22 RF compound up in a liquid alcohol or acetone base if I could drip a single drop onto each of (100) primers in a box to "boost" their effectiveness? The liquid evaporates leaving the mixed residue to be active. Maybe it would get around and under the intact anvils on the primers? Just a thought.

I bet they light off Black Powder! Just as is.

I've not pursued it much. No air space and some additional, softer, lube I get. And the cleaning afterward with soapy warm water.

That certainly is a thought.
