Regulating an old .22 fixed sight pistol

It shot 8” low at 25 yds. I trimmed 0.010” off the top of the front sight, it seems to have moved impact 3”. So for 5” more works out to 0.017” more? Does that sound about right?

I ‘d rather it shot a little high at 25. You probably already have it done by now.
Have you tried “tool black” to touch up bare metal?

That works pretty good. I just use a marker temp.

so it will not shine in the light. I may do the whole rig in a spray and bake finish after I get it all regulated.

Not bad for a $150 pseudo cowboy shooter.

You should take a little at a time. You can’t put shavings back on.
