Picture of Bill Firman with a huge crocodile. I'd love to hear the story of that hunt if anyone knows.

And if anyone else has any croc or gator hunting stories I'd love to hear about it. I've never been (yet) but want to do it some day.

Ray, I grew up on a lake in west florida. I have a ton of

Still have most of my family spread through Florida. But I had to be closer to the Mountains so relocated to Colorado.

I will tell you the story while we are in Africa.

Firman is a cool guy. He has to always overachieve.

Not braggadocios but self driven. He's done well in his life and always driven to reach a very lofty goal. What he may lack in outright skill he overcomes with resolve and means.

He took Elephant, Rhino (dart gun), Leopard, Buffalo, Hippo, Crock, and a score of others. I bet he spent $300K or more. Not a typo. He was chronicling his stories but I have not heard anything in a while. His wife passed and he remarried. Been busy. The Leopard story is my favorite, he about took himself out. The Buffalo tale takes several drinks to pry out of him. It did not go according to script.

The Crock was with a .378 GNR, I think. He also used a .338 GNR but I think he had trouble on the trip and fell back to the .378. The Elephant was done with a .416 GNR and 400 gr. Solid with IMR3031. Puffy loaded the ammo for that. Bill's a really nice and generous guy, lots of fun!

The leopard story

Is that the one where a Rhino came by and was eating the ground blind? LOL!
