Looking back at my dealing's with the VA since 1978 all they ever asked for was a copy of my DD214. It has all the information on it they ask for, date of birth, service dates, ssn etc. I was never asked for any other form of ID. You can report suspected fraud to the VA. I have noticed that as the Vietnam Vets are aging the VA has done more fraud investigations.
