There is probably an obvious reason why a 50 Alaskan lever gun won't shot 500L and 510GNR, right?

It it was mechanically possible then

folks would be shooting 44mag out of their 444 Marlin. So I assume it's the action that is the constraint, right?

The case diameter of a .444 is about like a .45 ACP

I make rimmed .358 Winchester (.356 Win.) from .444 Brass. It's bigger diameter than the .44 Mag. case, has nothing to do with the length. You can make .307 Win. brass in that manner also, plus others.

Thanks, Scotty.

I rarely go to Guns International but I did today and saw this.

They should shoot fine in a lever gun

It’s not going to feed a short case in the long action. You would basically be shooting a single shot, loading each one by hand.

That makes sense. So you could

drop one in the chamber one at a time, then. Defeats the purpose of the lever action so a Ruger No.1 or an Encore are still the best bet, likely the only option for practical cartridge versatility. Thanks for the confirmation, MTM.

Carry a 510GNR on your hip, and a 50 AK

Lever gun. You can still use the 510’s in the lever, after you run out of 50 AK’s

yes - I'm connecting these interesting dots
