I am kind of pumped up over it as our club is having an ice fishing event at the pond.

I'm hoping to catch some trout but also catch some yellow perch and pickerel.

You can take the yellow perch and cook them in a way that makes the consumer think they are eating shrimp. Also there was a Korean lady in our hometown who taught us how to cook the egg sacks. Don't laugh but perch egg sacks cooked up taste great.

Pickerel are full of bones but if you freeze them for a few weeks and then pickle them, the bones soften and almost dissolve. Pickled fish is referred to as Sledzie in Poland. I love it but it is a bit pricey after a while. Hopefully I will be able to make a good batch for myself.
