I bet these shortages have some folks turned batty! Lol. Just the thought of not being able to find any of some item that might become a whim. I feel it myself.
Turning to single shots or even muzzle loaders, or air guns, can ease tensions. Plus it really adds mileage to the resources and fun.
This was my only shortage. Truth is 500 is enough...

Usually from re-formed .414SM or blown straight 7.62x39. Then the gun slings them into the bushes or tall grass. I shoot, then quickly glance over hoping to glimpse the case on the bounce!

WB, I've noticed this is a pet-peeve of yours.

Roman and his Chinese buddies shot thousands of rounds about half steel cases. I’d go over the next week on the riding mower and hit the piles! That about made me stroke out! One Sat. I hit some and a steel case 7.62x54R smacked the tin wall of the shop about 6” from Roman’s big head! From me being 25 yds. Or more away! I think it helped him see the picture. Lol
