Reeder Custom Guns

I am fairly new to casting. But with everything getting hard to find....I made my mind up to cover as much of what I can. I figure as long as I have a way to cast my own bullets...I dont have to be dependent on the current events. I got lucky and found my.257 molds...then picked some 45 and a 6.5 up from Gary in this last bunch.
Now I am gathering lead and making sure I have enough brass for a long dryspell

I see guys already reloading primers! Using toy caps, heads of strike anywhere matches, and available chemical mixtures that are quite volatile when combined.

I have seriously looked at making tooling to open up small primer pockets to large. Just to see. I think the idea has merit. Leave the hole the same, just the primer pocket.

they will fire small rifle primers with no problems. I can always go to that should I run short of small pistol primers.

I have increased the depth of Large Pistol primer pockets to accept Large Rifle. Years ago Dad made a reamer for me that works real well.

There are always ways to make 'em go BANG.

manufacturers have pulled all primers off the market to fulfill military and law enforcement contracts. He said it would be late this year before we see any primers on the shelves. Consider this second hand info but he has never led us astray before.

the #11 brass commercial caps. You can carefully double up on the charges of the plastic red or yellow toy "caps". I can re-convert my ML nipples from Musket to #11 and vice-versa. I have "Flint locks" too so no need for caps!

Primers are the tough commodity.

I have fired ML with Chinese toy caps replacing

It's not hard to make caps either.

Switch over to a Flintlock if you can.
