we are to have rolling blackouts to ease the demand on the power plants, they can last up to an hour. An hour with no power and it may become a tad chilly in here. Snowing now, looks like I'll need to shovel the driveway tonight,
it was -2 when I did it last night.

Today is the first day since the 4th where we are above 0.

WIFE WORKS IN THE LITTLE HOSPITAL IN THE NEAREST REAL TOWN (10,000 PEOPLE)
JUST TOLD ME THE PIPES BROKE SOMEWHERE & THE SURGICAL AREA IS FLOODED & IT'S HEADING DOWN THE HALLWAYS -- HAVING TO MOVE THE PATIENTS TO SOMEWHERE
WE'RE SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT MOVING ANOTHER 150 MILES FURTHER SOUTH
LIKE THE COON ASS SAID -- SCREW THIS

we get (on a good year) 20 to 25 FEET of snow

here (at 8000 feet) so we have black outs from time to time. Other than a nuisance it isn't a problem as we have 3 wood stoves. One is a wood cook stove, so losing electricity isn't a real problem where I live.
