fight with cancer.
Patti and I arrived home last night after spending 10 days with Allison. She was in pain and discomfort from the pressure on her brain of the tumors. We spent several hours with her each day, really just getting things done, ie. housework, laundry, car cleaned and gassed, flowers refreshed, etc.etc. as she needed to rest and nap as much as she could. She had various appts at UCSD that required her going there so. Patti would drove her and read a book while she waited outside as no one is let inside the facilities unless they are receiving a procedure.. She had her 1st Covid vaccine last Monday , a Covid test last Wednesday for her chemo infusion last Friday , blood work, port flush, just lots of "stuff" as usual..she hopes she gets some relief from her head pressure from the infusion . We just hope the chemo will do the job of reducing the brain tumors and then she will have more targeted radiation. Her attitude continues to be strong yet anxious for some "good turns" in this 3 + year journey since her diagnosis in Nov., 2017...we couldn't be more proud of her and all that she has to do by herself in navigating this "new" world of medicine and medical insurance...not always a "patient friendly" situation.'ll update you as Allie's treatment progesses.. Lindsay will be arriving at the end of this month, in time to take her to her next chemo infusion appt.and any other appts they schedule for her.Lindsay is able to work from Allie's , so it is a nice break for Allie to have a distraction and , yet, she knows she can sleep /nap at any time and Lindsay keeps herself busy with her own work.. Please do continue your prayers for her healing. She deserves a BREAK in her litany of treatments. She has so enjoyed the many many uplifting cards, valentines and your personal words of encouragement, your personal writings to her mean a great deal to her !!! she has also appreciates your "special" gifts and the GIFT of your concern for her !!! which has included many prayers, Masses and rosaries said for her on a daily basis !!! you can always reach her at Allison Herf, 3429 Ray Street , San Diego, Ca., 92104'
