So, I finally got this gun going. Has been an ordeal, but worth it in the end.
Just a basic SRH 7.5" in 10mm Auto. I sent it to Gary and after a few plan changes it was rechambered to 10mm Magnum.
As I've posted before, I have switched over and now only use TK Moon Clips. These hold the 40 S&W, 10mm and 10mm Magnum very close to the recoil shield.
Today, I put on some Hogue Grips and mounted a Barska 2x Scope on the gun. I'll take some heat for that choice. But, they were previously marketed as the Simmons 2x and I've yet to kill one. The sight picture is excellent.
First I tried factory 10mm. Groups surprised me and stayed around 1.25". But, 10mm Magnum was much better.
I loaded several different cast bullets, all sizes .401". The first group put five into one ragged hole. The last one was out just a touch, so group ended about 5/8".
I tried several bullets and powders. All stayed 1" or under at 25 yards.
The long cylinder of the SRH allowed me to seat bullets out for more powder capacity. I easily pushed the 200s to 1600 fps. Part of this is due to Gary's Guys setting the barrel gap very tight.
I'm going to try the same loads at 75 yards. I'll update here.
For now, I'll say the 40s are the most accurate over 32 Caliber Revolvers I've tested.
