Reeder Custom Guns - History is great.

I've read some old timers instill that this bullet is too heavy for the 1911 and rough on it. I don't buy it. Only 4% heavier than the 230 ball. 70 yrs. ago Keith freaked everyone out by listing a hot load he worked up for the N-frame S&W, folks are still reeling! Loaded to normal ball levels it should be a real hammer.

The pedigree is a .45 Colt adaptation of the heralded 429421 but the nose shortened to feed in a 1911 mag. How wrong can that be?!

My wonder gun can be transformed into a 10-shot, pocket, .45 Colt! We'll just see.

obviously just the diameter is changed by 0.001". This NEI is marked 453423. I hear it makes a fine .45 Colt slug also. I have a Ruger .45 ACP/Colt and really like using the full moon clips. I'm tempted to get a second cylinder for my Bisley Vaquero to ACP, just for the fun of it. I have a whole shelf of extra cylinders! But they sure do add versatility.

I had one of the original S&W 1988 M625 5". Man why did I trade it off?! (some Reeder custom turned my eye)

They did re-issue a run of them. The 1988 was supposed to be limited to what 3000? So they re-did one as 1989 in 4"? I can't remember. I still think a fantastic combat revolver. I never had any issues with the full lug barrels.
