Playing with the .22 Magnum Reloading Kit ... casting a few bullets. They weigh 40.4 gr. with the alloy I am using.

Those look great

Is that the mould that comes with the kit? Have you decided on a powder to use?
I’m not near as clever as WaterBoy, but i waited long enough for him to reply.

Yes .. that mold comes with it.

It's small and you have to wear gloves to use it. All steel and it heats up!!

Looks like Lil' Gun will give the best velocities .. around 1800 fps. Bullseye ... Unique ... 231 .. Red Dot .. all those powders work. I want to try some Blue Dot also.

I am thinking of having a friend powder coat the bullets. If done right you can push them pretty hard and not get leading.

If you powder coat, you may have to size them

But it will be worth it to eliminate leading. A plain base gas check made out of soda cans might be a good way to fix a leading problem too. Patmarlin sells those gas check makers (i believe).

Hey Jim. I’ve got some primed

I know that Ruger you have will be a great test vehicle. No alox coating?

How did that ironing out the old dent in the rim go? The .22 WMR is a very thick brass. I figured that would be a booger!

I didn't bother to iron it out.

the odds of hitting it again are pretty small ... not gonna worry about it.

Well...I never thought like that!

I've seen some .22 WMR advertized at $40/50 not counting shipping. Last I bought were $20/50. It also gives some prospect for old guns in .22 WRF! And .22 Win. Auto too I guess.
