You have to envision every step along the way and pack your gear so there is immediate access with no delays. Simple stuff, like the gun case locks, the paperwork, your clothes. It's more complicated than you imagine. Which loads, how many, spare parts, what cleaning stuff/tools, traveler's checks, local cash, meds, camera and film, snacks, water, pens, diary, boot laces, how many spares of what (risk-based) , insect repellant, glasses cleaner, spare pair, shot record, first aid (how much), toilet paper, batteries, how many knives , survival stuff, spare scope, sewing kit, spare buttons, costume jewelry for female locals on the staff, Bed and Breakfast layovers, credit card, ....
