Reeder Custom Guns - a Trail Gun just finished for Erik Stenberg.

Erik wanted a dual cylinder in 40 S&W and 10mm. The gun is one of the nicest Trail Guns we have ever built. 5 shot cylinders and our deluxe Black Chromex finish. The 40 S&W has a gold band to tell it from the 10mm cylinder. Gunfighter Grip with aged ivory Corian grips. Full Positive Performance Package. The gun favors the 10mm a bit but both are accurate. It has the interchangeable blade front sight with the green fiber optic blade. Another very nice Trail Gun. Any smears you might see are a light coating of oil.

My 40 S&W and 10mm Trail Guns are single cylinder guns.

I told him he'd be happy with it and looks like he will. I can't comprehend why these builds aren't more popular.

what are those rounds going to do that normal revolver rounds won't do?

components it makes some sense and is an astonishingly efficient round for the revolver. The .40 S&W is so easy to get as to loaded ammo, and components. The ballistics are the same in a revolver as a sealed breach semi-auto. I'm not sure why, just is. The 180-200 gr. usually runs 1000-1100 fps from my 6". Actually so close to actual factory 10mm ballistics not to matter much. However all you need to do is seat bullets to 10mm OAL and it IS a 10mm.

Which is to say a bit better than the .38-40 Win. ever was and with half the powder.

In a DA gun the .40/10 is even more versatile as it is totally interchangeable with the full moon clips. You can just go wild. If I were to critique the Single Six big bores I'd only say I'm a bit surprised for their compact stature they are only a few ounces lighter than a Med. chassis Blackhawk. That surprised me a little. I think Ruger should make the Single-* in both .357 Magnum and .400 cal. Gary's .38 Super chambering was so far ahead of the game, they could do that today with no modifications if they wanted to. Where are you Ruger?! Go for it.

they don't do anything that rimmed cartridges won't do. The fact that they are on the single six isn't important to some of us and the moon clips are just something else to lose.

It’s too big (rimmed). You can get 38/40 performance with same same bullets in the rimless rounds. I think that is the point.
