Congrats on a sucessful hunt! What bullet and velocity did you use for your 454?

Using Sierra 300 grain soft points ( there not really soft) and 25.5 grains of 2400. Not max power, but up there, just where the group tightens up the best group in a FA83. Shoots great in both FA’s and my custom Reeder 454/455 dual cylinder. [image]
Here’s one I recovered from my Blue Gnu. Thru one shoulder, glanced off the other, coursing back. Weighed 289 grains still, just smeared the tip, and a little piece of jacket.

That is a nice wildabeast! Definately one I would like to take! Is this the same load Gary used for his buf?

Yards, I could only use the Revolver on one. The Blue was in brush, and we were off on foot, so great timing on carrying the revolver. I had left the FA83 in the cabin, and was carrying the G2, so it worked out for Gary to have the ability to use it for a few days as needed. I rolled my wildabeast with the first shot thru the shoulder, but gave it a few finishers as they are incredibly tough, and I did not want him to suffer, or get up and run!
I wish I could have experienced Gary taking his Cape Buffalo, but I had extreme confidence in the gun and load, and Gary is an excellent shot, even with an unfamiliar firearm, and sorted out the tiny Buffalo problem in short order. ( tiny as in the new No1 world record) the one Bullet he recovered, could be reloaded and shot again. It appeared to still be 300 grains, and just slightly pushed in the nose.
