One of my side enterprises involves conducting handgun safety classes at my rod and gun club. If you want a Massachusetts LTC( License to Carry) you have to take a class with a certified instructor. So I do a few classes through the year. I really enjoy it but I need some advice.
I have seen a trend where more women are getting their LTC's and many have trouble with autoloaders.
I don't want to start a war online but I see many of them who do not have the arm, hand and upper body strength to rack the slide on most centerfire autoloaders.
The SW Shield is a real bear for most. So is a full size 1911.
So when someone asks me what should I get I tell them you need to handle some firearms at a decent gun shop and see which one fits your hand the best and that you can operate it without a problem.
Many like the Ruger SP 101 as it is easy to operate. I kind of advocate a good 5 or 6 shot revolver for many.
What I would like is some advice regarding easy to operate autoloaders.
What autoloader would you recommend for someone who may have limited muscle strength? I know some will say there are techniques to use but I have tried them all.
Thank you.
