as far as adjustable sights and trigger. The slide cut out like a Walther P38 or Beretta is cool. You can better visually see the chamber. Many old .22's with dirty chambers, the extractor can jump the case and you have a LOADED gun thinking you have racked the action and cleared it. Sometimes our motor skills override our sight and brain.

I had a Remington 552 Speedmaster in the house 6 months we racked and snapped many, many times only to find it had a loaded round stuck in the chamber! Ditto an old .410 Bolt action I had worked the bolt and snapped several times only to find a loaded round up in there out of easy view and thank God for a gummed up firing pin assy. I'm sure I did it in a safe direction but I THOUGHT it had a cleared chamber!

Anyway I got the TX22 because it was handy and very light weight, had 16-shot capacity (mine only came with 2 mags) and the slide is very, very easy to rack. It's a great farm carry pistol that would do as a .22 Rimfire self defense piece. Ergonomics are absolutely perfect. I think it weighs about 1 lb. loaded! Mine is superbly reliable unless you get the criss-cross rimfire rounds crossed up in the mag. Otherwise it runs perfect. I also shoot mine suppressed and it not only is quiet but shoots most Hi-velocity rounds subsonic. I don't have to buy specialty expensive sub-sonic ammo. Look up the complaints about the barrels. I remember something but I've not had trouble.

Any red dot can be mounted to the original Taurus TX22 using a mount by Lakeland LLC.
