Gary, I think it's a keeper.

Several months ago I traded into a Contender frame, four barrels, and a butt stock. I really had no use for anything but the frame so my son posted them on some hunting site and they were gone within three hours.

Now with money in hand I called Gary for a 14" 7 GNR barrel with base and rings. My thought with the 7 GNR is it would give me the extra 50 yards I sometimes need for deer over my 455 GNR revolver in the wheat stubble and sage brush of Eastern Washington.

After receiving the barrel I mounted a 3-12x32 Burris scope that was also acquired through some trade, then case forming was started.

The bullets chosen for fire forming were the RCBS-140-Silhouette and the Lyman 287346. Powders were IMR-3031, 4064, and 4320. All cases were perfectly formed on the first firing.

An accuracy load was found with 4064 and the 140 gr. Lyman bullet and it was tried out today. Shots were between 60 and about 110 yards. The smallest chuck was actually the farthest shot.
