but the wood grips were not completely burned off so I would figure that it did not get hot enough to hurt the metal. The springs, yes. But the frame, no.
I had a friend who lost his guns in a house fire. It was so hot it completely melted the aluminum grip frames off his Ruger sixguns. That was hot enough to weaken the frames and cylinders.
