In a way it is too bad DW went the way of the passenger pigeon but what can you do?

I recall when I was a young man going to the DW factory in Monson MA at the old school building when I had some trouble with a couple of DW's I owned.

The Dan Wesson revolvers with a 4" barrel are not that rare, just not as common as a 6".
I bought a blued with a 6" barrel new in 1984. For years I wanted to scope the revolver, but couldn't bring myself to drill and tap the barrel. Didn't like the clamp on mounts. A few years ago Gary offered several Dan Wesson components from an estate sale and I grabbed a 8" vented barrel. Drilled and tapped the barrel and installed a Weigand mount. Super accurate with about everything I've shot through it.
