Dad bought this in 1963 when America was still free. We walked into a hardware store in Phoenix. Dad looked it over and paid cash. No paperwork. No one even asked his name. We walked out with the gun in the Ruger box. No one on the street even looked twice.

Eventually Dad rebarreled it with a barrel from a Model 52 Winchester Target Rifle. He opened up one chamber to .22 Magnum. Since you carry it with 5 and the hammer down on an empty, the Magnum chamber is the carry chamber.

He reworked the hammer and the action and marked the chambers. The gun is extremely accurate.

Dad has been gone 10 years. This will stay in the family after I am gone.

Don't have one.

S&W 22-32 kit gun. 22 LR. I always carried that particular gun whenever I ventured off into the woods. It was my pack gun with 2 boxes of ammo. My survival backup gun! Still like in new condition. Pete

to own so many guns (and trade them off when the excitement wears off) that actually having one that is special to me is hard to pick out. My 41 Auto Mag was very special to me as I used it all over the world, but then someone offered me 10 times what I thought it was worth so it went bye bye.

If I had to pick a revolver it would be between my Alaskan Hunter in 429 GNR,[image]

or the 510 Hunter in 510 GNR
[image]
If I get to go back to Africa in September for African lion I will probably take either the 429 GNR Alaskan Hunter or the 510 Hunter but will modify it with an 8" barrel to make it legal for Africa.

Gary,
Who are you hunting lion with? I've got a lioness hunt planned in October in the Kalahari region of SA with De Klerk Safaris.

These all came out of the J. Henry Fitzgerald estate.

Guns that were shot a lot and I have added a few having Alan Harton rebuild the 44spl once.

44 Spl and 44 WCF Frontier

These King guns don’t really grow on trees...

The 3rd gun not pictured is a 32WCF short action in a short barreled Colt... I don’t care if I get that one, that means that Grandpa would have also been gone from this rock.
