WB, in the FA revolver thread you started below

is a special model and hard to find! I'd not relish shooting a full house .454 with that rubber hand spanker! BUt the factory smooth stocks are not too bad, just slippery. Gary's mods have more surface area and the shape really dissipates recoil, lets you have more control on follow through too. It's a design refined over much time and trials on rigs up to .500 Maximums.

Is why I don't have an FA. My hands are normal size but the middle knuckles on my right hand are almost half again normal size from work and injuries. Gary's Magnum grip frame really works well for me.

statement, it simply does not hold true for me personally, I have one of the field grade FA83 models in 454 and have no problems with the Pachmayr rubber grips , in fact I prefer them, the reason is they are larger than the hard grips and seem to fill my hand better. They do however feel loose on the frame to me. I have several of Gary's guns and I will admit that the "Gunfighter" configuration is a vast improvement, the only gun I own that slams into my knuckles is the Bisley, just not enough room between the trigger guard and the grip. not the Lwr Left grip compared to the Upper Left Superblackhawk frame ( my favorite) RH Upper is the std Blackhawk, and the Lwr RH a Trailrider conversion on a Superblackhawk Gripframe. All Gunfightered. The only problem I have with Gary's grips are that they are so smooth I feel like I can't get a good grip on them, however the comfort outweighs that notion. All in all my hands favor one thing and yours will favor something else

of Wayne Baker and Dick Casull. Both sorta used the Colt gripframe (in my humble opinion) to copy for the FA gripframe. Casull had been playing with his hot loads on Colt frames and guns for years while coming up with his 454 Casull so he was used to that gripframe. Wayne Baker was a bridge builder and not a gun guy so he went along with Casull's recommendation on the size and design of the FA gripframe.
